How to find love online in 2021, amid the pandemic

Susan Trombetti is a matchmaker and the CEO of Exclusive Matchmaking.

"First of all, you must realise that January is your biggest dating pool all year," she says adding that the super bowl of online dating is around New Year's Day.

"But January is still amazing as everyone has New Year’s resolutions to find love."

Here are a few dating tips for your online profile according to Suzan:

Get rid of the loser you’re with

This doesn't actually mean the guy you keep on going back to, but it's more so clearing that mental space because a lot of people are hung up on someone still in their head, so that when you meet someone that doesn't get in the way.

With an online dating profile, your photo is 95% of it.  

You need to make it good. You want to make sure that you’re upfront, close, and personal. Make sure your profile photo is eye-catching, has colour, and is current.

Apps that are good for finding something serious and long-term

It depends on your age. If you’re older, around 30s and up, you want to use match.com or eharmony.com simultaneously. You must invest your time. If you're younger, then sites like bumble.com, tinder despite the bad reputation that it tends to get but people are successful and still meet and marry.

How to spice things up after being on lockdown for so long

With everyone working remotely, one tends to work till late. I always say that you need to separate the time, there's work time, and then there's quality time, such as date night or cooking together. All in all, you need to set boundaries between work and romance.
