Soweto-born rising star Mordecai Ngubane is taking over the fashion scene one strut at a time, and while life in the industry can sometimes be unwelcoming for queer people, Ngubane is unapologetic about occupying spaces anyway.   

Raised in a household dominated by strong women, Ngubane credits their grandmother and great-grandmother, both talented seamstresses, for igniting their early fascination with fashion.
