It’s that time of year when people will spend money as if there is no tomorrow. We need to be cautious when it comes to spending.

People will soon go on vacations and others on holidays in different places. But one thing that we must keep in mind is that January is around the corner and we will need more money again.

Children will need to return to school and others to university. That means when you spend money, do so wisely.

You must have budget for December and make sure you don’t exceed it.

Those going to the Eastern Cape spend money well and look out for the black tax.

It is painful to see people waiting for their grandparent’s pensioner grant to get their bus fare to Cape Town.

Let’s avoid repeating our mistakes. I know how it feels to be stranded elsewhere because you ran out of cash.

Avoid being a Father Christmas when you see your friends and family members.

The best advice is to buy the school uniform and stationery ahead of the holiday fever.

Seeing that our economy is in shambles, we need to think twice before we take any action. We need to stay focused and not allow peer pressure to take over.

I must say there is nothing sinister when you don’t have money just to stay at home. You can’t be craving for or guzzling everything you see.

People must understand that being generous to other people won’t make you rich instead will leave you poorer if you do not have enough money.
