Founder and managing director of AI Forum, Samkelo Mqukuse, confirmed that this forum will launch a groundbreaking training initiative in collaboration with Small Enterprise Development Agency (SEDA), and the King Sabatha Dalindyebo (KSD) Local Municipality, at the Seda office in Mthatha.

Mqukuse said that this training will start from April 26, and will be on an ongoing basis every Friday.

He said they will host training sessions at various Seda branches across the region, from the beginning of May.

Mqukuse said,

We are recruiting others who will conduct them in various branches who showed interest. These sessions will provide participants with valuable insights into AI technologies, their applications, and income opportunities in the digital economy. We are excited to partner with Seda and KSD Mpality to empower individuals and businesses through AI education and training.

According to him, he started this forum after he came across ChatGPT and was amazed by its capabilities, but realised that people are not aware of it, especially from previously-disadvantaged areas. He said there is also a new profession that stems out of it called Prompt Engineering, which most people are not aware of, and requires no qualifications except knowing how to use AI tools such as ChatGPT, Dalie, Claude, etc.

“Our objective is to show people how to use AI tools for a living.”

He added that by equipping participants with the knowledge and skills needed to harness the power of AI, they aimed at driving innovation, entrepreneurship, and economic growth in the region.

According to him, the training sessions will cover a range of topics, including the fundamentals of AI tools for business success.

Mqukuse added that participants will have the opportunity to engage in hands-on activities to deepen their understanding of AI Forum platform.

“The collaboration between AI Forum, Seda, and KSD Municipality underscores a shared commitment to driving inclusive economic development and fostering innovation in the region.
