When the load shedding crisis considerably receded over the festive season, I thought that perhaps the ruling ANC government had placed Eskom management under huge pressure to keep the lights on, otherwise it could or would count against them in the 2024 elections.
But the resumption of load shedding, very ominously, on the first day of this new year, unceremoniously ended my new-found sense of optimism.
