The decision to invite Eskom’s former head of generation Matshela Koko to deliver a lecture at the University of Cape Town’s department of civil engineering must have been preceded by quite an interesting discussion.
The chat might have been attended by Professor Mark Zuidgeest, the departmental head, and some colleagues, who, in their quest to widen the exposure of their students to different ideas and intellectual contestation, discussed which external speaker would be able to blast open their charges’ minds.
