Not only does National Assembly (NA) Speaker Nosiviwe Mapisa-Nqakula find herself front and centre of a R2.3-million corruption probe, she could also lose her job for taking "special leave" without the assembly's approval.
The DA's chief whip has raised the alarm about Mapisa-Nqakula's special leave, which cannot be unilaterally taken.
The special leave comes as the Speaker is implicated in bribery allegations, involving more than R2.3 million, which date back to her time as the defence minister.
