Media24 was successful in its bid to stop two women from illegally distributing PDF versions of its magazines and newspapers via WhatsApp.

The Western Cape High Court granted an order prohibiting the women, Catharina Gorgens and Leanda van den Berg, from sharing PDF versions of Media24's print publications.

Judge Monde Samela said the two women had infringed Media24's copyright to the published editions in 2022 and between April and July 2023 by reproducing publications without permission by forwarding the publications to contacts in a WhatsApp group called "Newspapers and Magazines".
