Mpumalanga police have launched a manhunt for a suspect who allegedly raped a 17-year-old girl before attempting to rape her cousin.

According to police, the assailant, who was driving a grey Hyundai i10 vehicle, befriend the two girls and bought them beverages at the girls' neighbour's house during a party in Vosman, near Emalahleni on Thursday.

He then lured them away to a secluded place.
